In 1955, Bud & Peggy Himes founded HDCI in Nucla, Colorado.

Since 1955, the company has remained family-owned and operated and has prospered by operating with the same high work standards and quality assurance principals upon which the company was founded. The company was moved to its current headquarters in Grand Junction in 1964.
